Rene Paul - blues pianist, songwriter, comedian
Who am I? Good question. I haven't decided yet if I'm a bluesman who loves to joke around, or a comedian who loves to play the blues. Sometimes it's a concert, sometimes it's a comedy show. In any case, the result is hard to describe, but easy to enjoy.
Comedy
It's simple: I sit down at the piano and sing about what's bothering me. The good news is, it's probably bothering you too. Sharp original songs that are fast, funny, and might even make you feel actually fine, for an hour at least.
Piano Bar
This is the format where I hand all responsibility over to you. You choose the song, I have to play it – whether it's "Despacito" or "My Heart Will Go On".
I guess I've spent 25 years practicing piano just to play Backstreet Boys for drunk people. It's a living!
Blues
Together with Argo Toomel and Peep Kallas, we play honest-to-god piano blues. No frills. As proof, we have won the Estonian Blues Challenge. Twice. You have been warned.
